Artist Statement
My alluvial land of agronomy and culture, which I reckon, is rooted in my psyche and it took a wonderful shape in me. A profound blending of clay culture in my ecology of mind enriching me constantly, which today it is taking on me like an author to find my own idiom of expression. My main art motif is mother & child and man & woman in harmony or fusion. Sometimes it plays as a musical crescendo imbued with love and embrace. In doing so, the psychological aspects between two figures cannot be missed, I guess, the entwined couple finds its space of love and affection with a reference to amazing powerful blending of sensuality. It is amazing that I am using clay, which you can get messy with while you work. However, the first thing about the medium is the volume, the mass that you feel in your palm and fingers to bring out your form using your spatula or knife and your hands. It is sheer brilliance that you work with the rough form of clay and then evolve with your design and form towards that you intend to give birth to. When you are satisfied with form, doing the final touch by bringing texture or roughness on the surfaces of the forms, you need to let them dry giving a few days. If you use mould of different metal or colour effect, you need to put it into the kiln. Yes, I do various lumps of clay for a series of texturing for my sculptures.
