It is amazing that I am using clay, which you do not get messy with while you work. But first thing is the volume, the mass you feel to bring out your form using your spatula and knife and your hands! It is sheer brilliance that you work out with rough form and from there you evolve design or form you intend to give birth to! When you are satisfied with form, doing final touch by bringing texture or roughness on the surfaces of the forms, you need to let them dry giving a few days. If you use mould of different metals or use colour effects if you need to and put into the kiln, you do so. Yes, I do various lumps of clay for a series of texturing for sculpts. One in this series, also in the making, is called ‘Shopneel Mrinmoy’. These textures can be amplified or reduced by using a heavier or lighter touch by using different thin and pointy tools depending on the effect you need.

What I dream of is an art of balance, of purity and serenity devoid of troubling or depressing subject matter – a soothing, calming influence on the mind, rather like a good armchair, which provides relaxation from physical fatigue. – Henri Matisse
A sculptor is a person who is interested in the shape of things, a poet in words, and a musician by sounds. – Henry Moore
Baby’s boat the silver moon Sailing in the sky Sailing o’er the sea of sleep, While the clouds float by. Sail, Baby, sail Out upon that sea, Only don’t forget to sail Back again to me. Baby’s fishing for a dream, Fishing near and far, Her line a silver moonbeam is, Her bait a silver star.
To and fro, to and fro In my little boat I go Sailing far across the sea All alone, just little me. And the sea is big and strong And the journey very long. To and fro, to and fro In my little boat I go. Sea and sky, sea and sky, Quietly on the deck I lie, Having just a little rest. I have really done my best In an awful pirate fight, But we captured them all right. Sea and sky, sea and sky, Quietly on the deck I lie– Far away, far away From my home and from my play, On a journey without end Only with the sea for friend And the fishes in the sea. But they swim away from me Far away, far away From my home and from my play. Then he cried “O Mother dear.” And she woke and sat upright, They were in the rocking chair, Mother’s arms around her.
God’s Garden God looked around His garden And He found an empty place And then He looked down upon the earth, And saw your tired face. He put His arms around you And lifted you rest. God’s Garden must be beautiful He always takes the best He knew that you were suffering He knew that you were in pain He knew that you would never get well on earth again He saw the road was getting rough And the hills were hard to climb So He closed your weary eye lids, And whispered,”Peace be thine” It broke our hearts to lose you But you didn’t go alone For part of us went with you The day God called you home.

Shrouded Soul symbolises the position of womanhood in our society ! They wrapped up in the shroud or a veil or Parda which imposed by religious or socio religious condition they live in. Women need to be educated and enlightened so that they can dispel all the oddities of life and fight against the injustice and victimisation by the so called male dominance.
